1:Life is a journey, an important journey, and we travel this journey but once. The journey of life is often punctuated with rituals that are intended to fill our experiences with meaning. But the number of people who observe rituals, including religious rituals, and actually derive meaning and purpose in life is unknown. Yet, at least some of these people keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. Against this background, it should not surprise you that God rejects non-substantive participation in rituals.
