“…My people come pretending to be sincere and sit before you. They listen to your words, but they have no intentions of doing what you say…” (Eze 33:31, NLT). “Listen to me, you wise men. Pay attention, you who have knowledge. …Pay attention to what I say” (Job 34:2 & 16, NLT). “…Take my words to heart. Follow my commands, and you will live” (Prov 4:4, NLT). “…Never stray from what I am about to say” (Prov 5:7, NLT), “…and pay attention to my words” (Prov 7:24, NLT). “…Commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, so that as long as the sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors” (Deut 11:18-21, NLT). “Hear this message from the Lord, all you who tremble at his words. ‘Your own people hate you and throw you out for being loyal to my name. Let the Lord be honored!’ They scoff. ‘Be joyful in Him!’ But they will be put to shame” (Isa 66:5, NLT). “…O people of Israel! The Lord has brought charges against you, saying: ‘There is no faithfulness, no kindness, no knowledge of God in your land…. That is why your land is in mourning and everyone is wasting away…. …You will stumble in broad daylight….’ My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me…” (Hos 4:1-6, NLT). “Listen, all the earth! I will bring disaster on my people. It is the fruit of their own schemes, because they refuse to listen to me. They have rejected my word” (Jer 6:19, NLT). “…Take my words to heart. Follow my commands, and you will live” (Prov 4:4, NLT). “My hands have made both heaven and earth; …I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word” (Isa 66:2, NLT).
