God is Actively Engaged In End Time Events
God’s ancient temple had two chambers: “…the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place” (Exo 26:33, TLB). The Most Holy Place, which held “…The Ark of the Covenant of the Lord…” (1 Kings 8:6; 2 Chron 5:7), was “…the inner house… of the temple” (1 Kings 7:50). Only those priests who have been faithful to the Lord… [stood] in God’s presence” (Eze 44:15-18, NLT), for they were “…consecrated to Jehovah” (Exo 28:36, TLB). Like the ancient, faithful priests, you are also consecrated to Jehovah (1 Pet 2:9; Rev 7:1-3; Pss 4:3). Thus, it should not surprise you that God gave this command: "…Go and measure the temple…, including the inner court where the altar stands, and… count the number of worshipers" (Rev 11:1, NLT). You who are in the Lord's temple, are you in the inner court where the altar stands? "In His presence are honor and majesty; in His place, strength and joy" (1 Chron 16:27, CJB).
God's faithful people, who "...live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty" (Pss 91:1, NLT). In times past, "...the [church] fled into the wilderness, where God had prepared a place for her, to take care of her for 1,260 days" (Rev 12:6, TLB). Today, God has His church planted in the world, and her charter calls for being "...NOT part of this world... (John 17:15-16). God makes this possible because "He has made His people strong, honoring His godly ones—the people of Israel, the people closest to Him" (Pss 148:14, TLB). "The high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, the Holy One, says this: 'I live in that high and holy place where those with contrite, humble spirits dwell; and I refresh the humble and give new courage to those with repentant hearts'" (Isa 57:17, TLB). Now let us connect what we have previously discussed with God's involvement with end time events.
"The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and He will make them know His covenant" (Pss 25:14, NASB). Examine one of God's secrets! "…Do not measure the outer court, …for it has been turned over to the nations.’ They will trample the Holy City for months. And I will give power to my two witnesses to prophesy 1,260 days, (42 months x 30 days/month)…. These two prophets are the two olive trees, and two candlesticks standing before the God of all the earth” (Rev 11:2-4, TLB). They are “…the two anointed ones who assist the Lord of all the earth” (Zech 4:3-5, 11-12, & 14; Eze 40:3, 5, TLB). “…They have power to shut the skies so that no rain will fall during the three and a half years, (42 months), [to] prophesy, and to turn rivers and oceans to blood, and to send every kind of plague upon the earth as often as they wish. When they complete the [3½] years of their solemn testimony, the tyrant who comes out of the bottomless pit, [Rev 20:1-3, TLB], will declare war against them and… kill them…. …There will be a worldwide holiday—people everywhere will rejoice and give presents to each other and throw parties to celebrate the death of the two prophets who had tormented them so much! But after three and a half days, the spirit of life from God will enter them, and they will stand up! And great fear will fall on everyone. Then a loud voice will shout from heaven, ‘Come up!’ And they will rise to heaven in a cloud as their enemies watch. The same hour there will be a terrible earthquake that levels a tenth of the city, [of Jerusalem-(Rev 11:8)], leaving 7,000 dead. Then everyone left will, in their terror, give glory to the God of heaven” (Rev 11:5-7, 10-13, TLB).
Events of cataclysmic proportions are forthcoming. And although God has been largely ignored, yet He makes this bold announcement: "…As surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance to God” (Rom 14:11; Isa 45:23, NLT). “…For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns” (Rev 19:6, TLB). To all those who have the privilege of entering His inner court, "He has given us both His promise and His oath, two things we can completely count on, for it is impossible to tell a lie. Now all those who flee to Him to save them can take new courage when they hear such assurances from God. Now they can know without doubt that He will give them the salvation He has promised them. This certain hope of being saved is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls, connecting us with God Himself behind the sacred curtains of heaven, where Christ has gone ahead to plead for us from His position as our High Priest..." (Heb 6:18-20, TLB). How often are you in conference with God? Do you meet with Him in His secret place? Does He share His secrets with you? Do you have His confident assurances as anchor for your soul?
