God is Sovereign, Just and Merciful
“…The time will come when you will be led away with hooks in your noses. …You will be dragged away like a fish on a hook” (Amos 4:2, NLT). “The nations will then know why Israel was sent away to exile. It was punishment for sin, for they were unfaithful to their God. Therefore, I turned away from them and let their enemies destroy them. I turned my face away and punished them because of their defilement and their sins” (Eze 39:23-24, NLT). “…They have lost their way and can’t remember how to get back to the sheepfold. All who found them devoured them. Their enemies said, ‘We did nothing wrong in attacking them for they sinned against the Lord, their true place of rest…” (Jer 50:6-7, NLT). “…This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will end the captivity of My people; I will have mercy…” (Eze 39:25, NLT).
