God's Children Saved by Merits of Christ
“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Cor 15:22). “…The first… Adam was… a living soul [Gen 2:7]; the last Adam was… a quickening spirit” (1 Cor 15:45; Eph 2:1)—“…the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Rev 13:8). This Lamb “…emptied Himself, taking the form of a… servant, and …becoming obedient to… death on a cross” (Php 2:7-8, NASB). “[And] the message of the cross is… to us who are being saved… the power of God” (1 Cor 1:18). “For [God] made [Christ] who knew NO sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor 5:21, NKJV). “…He was pierced… for our transgressions; …crushed for our iniquities …and by His scourging we are healed. …He… bore the sins of many…” (Isa 53:5-6 & 12, NASB) so that “...no one can ever boast in the presence of God. God has united [us] with Christ Jesus, …and He freed us from sin” (1 Cor 1:29-30, NLT; John 3:16).
