God's Children Warned about Injustices
“…The wall of righteousness… guards the land…” (Eze 22:30, NLT). “…Live soberly, righteously and godly…” (Tit 2:12). “Righteousness exalts a nation…” (Prov 14:34, NASB). “Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow” (Isa 1:17). God loves justice (Pss 89:14 & Prov 21:3). “[But] the people of the land have used oppression…” (Eze 22:29) and “…cries of… [the oppressed] have reached the ears of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies” (Jam 5:4, NLT). “For our sins are piled up before God and testify against us. Yes, we know we have rebelled and have denied the Lord. We have turned our backs on our God. We know how unfair and oppressive we have been, carefully planning our deceitful lies. Our courts oppose the righteous, and justice is nowhere to be found. Truth stumbles in the streets, and honesty has been outlawed. Yes, truth is gone, and anyone who renounces evil is attacked. The Lord looked and was displeased to find there was NO justice. He was amazed to see that NO one intervened to help the oppressed. So He Himself stepped in to save them with His strong arm, and His justice sustained Him” (Isa 59:12-16, NLT). “The Lord… will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble” (Pss 9:9); “the Lord [executes] righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed” (Pss 103:6).
