“My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender, green shoot, like a root in dry ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance… to attract us to him. He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way; …we did not care” (Isa 53:2-3, NLT). “The Lord, the Redeemer and the Holy One of Israel, says to the one who is despised and rejected by the nations…, ‘Kings will stand at attention when you pass by. Princes will… bow low because… the Lord, the faithful one, the Holy One of Israel… has chosen you’” (Isa 49:7, NLT). “…At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11, NLT).
