1. “All of us… have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own…” (Isa 53:6, NLT). "All have turned away; …no one does good, not a single one” (Rom 3:12, NLT). “Adam caused many to be sinners because he disobeyed God, [but] Christ caused many to be made acceptable to God because He obeyed” (
“…Order the Israelites to turn back and camp… across from Baal-zephon. Then Pharaoh will think [you]… are… trapped in the wilderness …and he will chase after you. I have planned this… to display my glory… [that] …the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.’ …Pharaoh [called]… 600 of Egypt’s best chariots, [and charioteers], …each with its commander, [and] …chased after… Israel…. As Pharaoh approached, …Israel looked up and panicked…, and… said to Moses, ‘…Didn’t we tell you this would happen…?’ …But Moses… [said]: ‘Don’t be afraid.
“…Since God… has given us this new way, we …reject all shameful deeds and unhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God…” (2 Cor 4:1-2, NLT). Each person’s “…record… [is] on high” (Job 16:19; Rev 20:12 & 15; 13:8; 17:8; 21:27). “…On the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done; …[it] will show if a person’s work has any value” (1 Cor 3:13, NLT). “…[God]… has no favorites. He will judge or reward you, [Rev 22:12], according to what you do.
“We always thank God for you and pray for you constantly. We never forget your loving deeds as we talk to our God and Father about you, and your strong faith and steady looking forward to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thes 1:2-4, TLB). “…Keep up the good work and don’t get discouraged, for you will be rewarded” (2 Chron 15:7, TLB). “For God is not unfair. He will not forget how hard you have worked for Him and how you have shown your love to Him by caring for other believers, as you still do” (Heb 6:10, NLT). “So let’s not get tired of doing good.
“…Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. …You must be holy in everything you do…” (1 Pet 1:14-15, NLT). “…Put to death the sinful… things lurking within you…” (Col 3:5, NLT). God gave Christ a work to do on earth (John 5:36); and Christ said: “…My Father who lives in me does His work through Me” (John 14:10, NLT), and He completed God’s work (John 17:4). Likewise, “…God… [will] make you perfect in every good work…” (Heb 13:20-21); thus, “we must quickly carryout the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us…” (John 9:4; 14:12, NLT).
“…Scripture… corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right” (2 Tim 3:16, NLT). “The word of God… exposes our innermost thoughts and desires” (Heb 4:12, NLT); and “…is a lamp unto [our] feet, and a light to [our] path” (Pss 119:105). These processes are on-going activities in the soul, where the principles of Christ—righteousness, holiness, justice and goodness (Luke 1:74-75; Isa 35:8 & 63:18; Pss 96:9; 82:3; 2 Chron 6:41; Pss 31:19 & 107:9)—must be firmly planted.
