“…All… who have been baptized into Christ… have been baptized into His death” (Rom 6:3, NASB). “…[Having been] united with Him in the likeness of His death, …we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection” (Rom 6:5, NASB). “…As Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life” (Rom 6:4, NASB). “…Our old self was crucified with Him… so that we… [are] no longer… slaves to sin” (Rom 6:6, NASB).
“…God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son…” (John 3:16, TLB)! “…God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us—the ungodly [Rom 5:6, NKJV]— while we were still sinners” (Rom 5:8, TLB). “…In our eyes there was… nothing to make us want Him. We despised him and rejected him.... We turned our backs on him…. He was despised, and we didn’t care…” (Isa 53:2-4, TLB). And at the end of Christ’s public ministry, it was religious people who “…shouted: ‘Kill him…’” (Luke 23:10, 13, 17-18, TLB).
“For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom He paid was not mere gold or silver. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose Him as your ransom long before the world began, but He has now revealed Him to you in these last days. Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because He raised Christ from the dead and gave Him great glory.
